Web performance pro tips, tracking CPU time, and hunting for unicorn metrics

Hi there,

It's been another packed month here at SpeedCurve HQ. Here are some highlights we think you'll be interested in...

New home page + faster onboarding

We're super excited to unveil the new SpeedCurve home page – featuring Herman, who really, really cares about having a fast UX. This home page is more than a pretty new face. We've also made it easier for new users to sign up for their free trial and start monitoring right away. (Tell your friends!)

New feature! Get weekly performance reports delivered to your inbox

This has been one of the most common feature requests we receive: a performance report every week that can, at a glance, answer one of your most important questions: did performance get better or worse? Now you can configure any of your Favorites dashboards to be summarized in a weekly email, like the one below.

Become a SpeedCurve power user

From creating performance budgets to benchmarking yourself against your competitors – we've rounded up pro tips and tutorials to help you take advantage of all the unique features SpeedCurve has to offer.

Tracking CPU time with RUM

Now you can use LUX (our RUM tool) to track how CPU time affects your users! Here's why it's important and how to get started.

Hunting for unicorn performance metrics

On May 11, I had the great privilege of delivering a keynote at the inaugural DeltaV Conference in London. It was a fantastic single-track event focused solely on performance. I shared a brief history of UX and web performance research, the current state of performance metrics, and what you need to focus on for your site and your users.

Find us at O'Reilly Fluent & Velocity in June

We're excited to be sponsoring O'Reilly Velocity and Fluent, which will be co-located in San Jose, CA, this June 11-14. Use promo code 'SpeedCurve25' at checkout to save 25% on your pass.

When you're there, be sure to check out the talks by SpeedCurvers Mark Zeman (Meaningful UX performance metrics and how to improve them) and Joseph Wynn (Becoming a team lead: a survival guide).

Steve Souders and I will also be there, so be sure to say hi!

You can also find us at performance.now in November

We're a proud sponsor of the inaugural performance.now() conference, happening in Amsterdam on November 8-9. Steve and I are honored to be part of the all-star speaker lineup, which includes folks like Harry Roberts, Katie Sylor-Miller, and Paul Irish.
